MEN’S JOURNAL: SCORE ONE FOR YOU: THE GOLF TIME-SHARE

Joining a posh country club would be nice, sure, but even for those with the connections and the means it’s a big commitment. A new company called Tour GCX Partners has devised a clever approach shot for golfers who want to stick a saddle-shoed toe in these hazardous waters. For $6,250 a year, qualified players-the application process includes a handicap check and etiquette test-receive a total of 10 foursomes at participating private clubs (which comes to just $150/round per person). At present, GCX is centered in the New York area, where 13 top facilities, including two former PGA venues have signed on. Three clubs in Las Vegas and one in Miami are also on board, and more markets will likely be added next year.
